Nollywood Actress, Moji Olaiya dies in Canada
Untimely death has yet again hit the Nollywood industry as news of
the death of actress Moji Olaiya has thrown its practitioners in a
state of mourning. Moji Olaiya, who was popular for her roles in No
Pains No Gain, Nkan Adun and Agunbaniro died at the age of 42 in Canada.
It was reported that she died of cardiac arrest due to subsequent complications from child birth.
She was born February 27, 1975. The actress sometime in March of this year, welcome a new baby girl to her home.
The news of her death was made known by the founder of Best of
Nollywood Awards (BON), Seun Oloketuyi via Instagram. “Breaking news
Moji Olaiya dies in Canada. Details soon,” he wrote.
Reacting to the news, actress Toyin Aimakhu also shared a photo of the actress, writing “RIP” with sad emojis.
Moji was married to Bayo Okesola in 2007. The actress who was one
of the children to veteran musician, Victor Olaiya, converted to Islam
in 2014.
Olaiya was also known for her roles in films such as Sade Blade, Nkan adun and Omo iya meta leyi.
She recently released her movie Iya Okomi, which starred her
alongside Foluke Daramola and Funsho Adeolu. In 2003, she was
nominated for the Reel Award Best Supporting Actress of the Year.
